Self-Portrait in Black   is a Unique piece , part of a series that the artist did over the theme of self portrait . It is made with carved plaster to draw attention on the very fragile nature of the being.  The facial expressions ,in this case are very hard and complex   , showing all the  drama and the rigidity of intense introspection . The skull's  entangled game of curves and shapes fights with the very squared lines of the face , exhibiting complications .  The black  lacquer confers a state of conflict  and  deep reflection. .
